Beauvezer, at an altitude of 1,170 m, is a historic commune which, in the last century, hosted the only industry in the Haut-Verdon to have experienced a tremendous boom: the draperies. This tradition of the Middle Ages had a local vocation at the beginning, but it knew an unimaginable scale, the sale extending even in the States of Savoy. A small industry was therefore born from this craft activity in the 19th century, but it quickly ran out of steam and collapsed to the great displeasure of the many workers who filled its ranks. A strong exodus followed and today the Haut-Verdon only retains the memory of the large buildings
