Located in the south and 28 km from Poitiers, the commune is part of the Civraisien en Poitou Community of Municipalities. At the confluence of three rivers (the Bouleure, the Dive and the Clain), this small commune of 830 ha and 420 inhabitants, offers an ideal setting to stay in a haven of nature and peace. Next to the church, there is a fountain dedicated to Saint Macoux. According to the legend, he dug many fountains in the countryside in order to give baptisms. The water flowing from the one of Voulon would hold particular properties which pushed, in remote times, the pilgrims to stop there.
