The village of Ceaux-en-Couhé, whose name would originally mean "to the hermitages" in Latin(cellis, cella) offers a pleasant living environment. There are 533 inhabitants. This small village is part of the Civraisien en Poitou community of municipalities. The river Bouleure flows through the village and feeds the Quincarderie pond where it is possible to fish for trout. Ask the local fishing association for more information. Otherwise, enjoy the photogenic settings of the ruins of the castle of the châtellenie de Monts and the priory of Sainte-Radegonde. A tree of freedom was planted there after the 1848 Revolution. Another one after the First World War
