Facing the Atlantic Ocean, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez is a major seaside resort with several neighborhoods. Outside the town center, there are several identifiable neighborhoods : Quartier du Terre-Fort, a residential area that also includes a shopping district and children's playgrounds. The Pège, Mouettes, Becs and Demoiselles districts. These neighborhoods are located along the coastline to the north of the commune. Many tourist accommodations and leisure activities are concentrated here. Le Pissot district to the northeast: nestled between gentle Breton marshes and bordered by forest, this district offers peace and quiet just a few kilometers from the sea. It's an ideal place for walking or cycling in the marshes. The large surface area (48.9 km2) of this seaside resort offers a varied natural environment between ocean, forest and marsh. A leading seaside destination on the Atlantic coast, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez offers all the advantages of a dynamic town in a natural, unspoilt setting. Twelve kilometers of fine sandy beaches, bordered by dunes. From Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to the Sion district of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, the western and southern shores of a former island can still be seen for around three kilometers. This is the Corniche Vendéenne, a listed site since 1926. For 3 km, the sea relentlessly attacks cliffs some ten meters high, creating caves, cutting into the rock and sometimes giving rise to small coves.
