Built on the rock on both sides of the banks of the Vie river, Apremont is labeled "Petite Cité de Caractère". Not to be missed is the Renaissance castle, built by Philippe Chabot, admiral of France and childhood friend of François I. Also worth seeing is the megalithic bridge of Tuderrière, called "small Gallo-Roman bridge". Excavations have established the existence of a Gallo-Roman camp in the first 3 centuries A.D. on the hill called Moulin des Vignes near here. Other monuments classified as historical heritage: the Tuderrière manor (15th-16th centuries), La Croix Hosannière, the Audardière castle (16th-17th centuries). Observe the facades and roofs of the castle with its tower and the wing of the outbuildings in return, the well, the straight staircase of the dwelling with its cage, the kitchen, the old living room and the room on the first floor of the tower with their decoration. The 177 hectare lake on the Vie river, seduces with its beach, supervised swimming, water slide, picnic areas, boat or pedal boat rides. Marked walking and cycling routes allow you to discover the built heritage and the countryside. Every year, in July, the Renaissance Festival takes place in the castle of Apremont, with games, a parade in period costume in the streets of the town, and a dinner show in the courtyard of the castle. And for the anecdote, Apremont was also the place of shooting of the movie " Les Vieux de la vieille" in 1960.
