Located at the limit of the Vendéen bocage and the plain, at the foot of the mills, Mouilleron-en-Pareds (the name of the commune before the merger), has an extraordinary historical past: indeed, it saw the birth of two illustrious great men: President Georges Clemenceau and Marshal Jean de Lattre de Tassigny. The Clemenceau-de Lattre National Museum is dedicated to them. Another famous child of the town, the astronomer Charles-Louis Largeteau (1791-1857). In addition to the museum, the church with its 12th century fortified bell tower and its carillon of thirteen bells, as well as the 18th century fountain with its old washhouse are also worth a visit.
