Saint-Fulgent experienced a tragic period during the Vendée War. On September 22, 1793, the Vendée troops of Charette and Lescure, with the Fulgent leader Royrand, attacked the Republican army of Mieszkowski and crushed it. But a few days later, Kleber attacked them... The war will last for more than two years, with destruction and devastation that will continue until 1797, when Bonaparte takes power. Saint-Fulgent lost a third of its population. Today, thanks to its geographical situation, it is the cradle of food industry groups (Arrivé, Routhiau) benefiting from an economic dynamism.
