In the heart of the Nantes wine-growing region, full of heritage and history, Mouzillon proudly displays its rich landscape with its vineyard slopes and its river Sanguèze, a tributary of the Sèvre, spanned by a Gallo-Roman bridge at some distance from which is the Saint-Julien fountain, a medieval building. The settlement of the municipality dates back to long before the Christian era, men had indeed settled there as evidenced by the carved flints found in various parts of the municipality, a Magdalenian camp as well as former iron mines. With more than 2,701 inhabitants, Mouzillon is a commune very attached to its rural character, which likes to live at the rhythm of wine-making activity and offers the opportunity to fully taste the jewel of its production, Muscadet, a wine of excellence that deserves to be discovered or rediscovered. Close to the Nantes metropolis, Mouzillon is developing a strong dynamism that is reflected in rapid population growth, a young population and a very active network of associations.
