In the heart of Ségala, a crossroads on the borders of Quercy and Cantal, Sousceyrac guards proud vestiges of its past. Among the curiosities that can be discovered here are the Carrayrat, an ancient main street lined with old houses, the Notre-Dame and Saint-Antoine gates giving access to the old town and a 14th century post house, the Ostal del Patje. On the outskirts of the town, the curious can contemplate - only from a distance as it is not open to visitors - the castle of Grugnac. The village is also known to have been the setting for Pierre Benoît's novel, Le Déjeuner de Sousceyrac.
