Milhac was originally located on an alternate route between Gourdon and the Dordogne valley, to prevent merchants from encountering the evil spirits that populated the Germaine or Marcillande marshes. Between history and legend, Milhac tells a medieval story that is still very much alive. Just look up at the castle built on the edge of a large cliff, which has undergone many changes over the centuries. A closer look reveals the lootings, assaults and fires that constantly altered its lines until the 20th century, when it was rehabilitated and transformed into a guest house.
