Labastide-Marnhac is one of the oldest bastides in the region, founded by the lord of Lard. Situated on the GR 65, the via Podiensis pilgrimage route from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, the commune boasts a magnificent 13th-century château, as well as a dolmen - the Peyrelevade dolmen - believed to have been built around 2000 B.C.
