Béduer has ancient origins, having been occupied since prehistoric times, particularly in the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the dolmens still visible today. If ancient remains have also been observed, it is in the Middle Ages that Béduer gained notoriety, having successively belonged to the families Barasc (11th-16th centuries), Narbonnès and Lostanges (17th-18th centuries). Béduer was also a lordship that competed for a long time with the abbey of Figeac. In addition to the dolmens, you can admire its 12th century castle - of which a dungeon and a tower remain - formerly attached to the Barasc family, one of whose members, Géraud V, was bishop of Cahors in the 13th century.
