Sauvimont? It is the Mount where one is safe. This small commune of 69 inhabitants, adjoining that of Samatan, is bounded by the rivers La Lieuze and L'Aussoue and bathed by the small stream of Saint-Martin. The church of Saint-Pierre de Sauvimont stands in the middle of the village, where in the 15th century there was a priory belonging to Saint-Etienne de Toulouse. Typical architecture of the churches of Savès with its bell tower-wall in the west dominating the building of the nave, it is distinguished by a remarkable interior: six columns painted in faux marble, topped by Corinthian capitals, support an entablature that goes around the choir that a communion table in wrought iron separates from the nave. The lower part of the walls is lined with woodwork. The ceiling of the nave is painted with light scrolls, leaves and small checkerboards. A small chapel, close to the choir, also has an 18th century painted grisaille decoration with fire pots. The nave communicates through arched arcades with two chapels, one in the north dedicated to Saint Orens, the other in the south to the Virgin. These two chapels have remarkable painted decorations almost entirely preserved in the south and only on one wall in the north. It is said that the statue of Saint-Orens adorning the church comes from an old church dedicated to Saint-Orens which was located about 2 km from the village, near a miraculous fountain. When the building was demolished, it was transported to the present church.
