In medieval times, Rieumes was one of the three fiefs of the Count of Comminges. However, it is much later evidence, in the 19th century, that gives an account of the importance of the trade sheltered by the wheat market of the time - which became the village hall. The church of Saint-Gilles houses a 19th century Cavaillé-Coll organ, one of the oldest in the region. Rieumes opens onto the Savès region, which offers visitors more than two hundred kilometers of hiking trails. The itineraries wind among mills and churches, leading to the meeting of popular traditions and local legends. A place of escape not far from the pink city.
