The imposing façade of Saint-Jean-Baptiste church stands in the middle of the fields and forest of the Landes region, in the north-east of the département, in the center of the small village of Vielle-Soubiran. While parts of the edifice may have been built in the Romanesque period, its austere silhouette and wooden loopholes date back to the 14th century. With a population of around 221, this small village is an ideal stopover for travellers in search of peace and quiet. Hiking enthusiasts will also be delighted by the many charming paths through the forests.
