Panjas is a small quiet village of barely 400 souls. Not much is known about its history, except that the wife of the Count of Pardaillan and Panjas was also the mistress of Henry IV. It is moreover the Green-Galant who "gave" her in marriage to his faithful companion in arms. The count lived in the castle, whose medieval towers are still standing. It has undergone many modifications and additions, not always very happy. The Saint-Laurent church is classified as a historical monument for its Romanesque chevet, its Gothic portal, as well as its very old frescos. The village of Panjas draws its subsistence from the armagnac.
