The historic site of Cons-la-Grandville is a treasure trove of Lorraine's architectural heritage. Just a few kilometers from Longuyon, in the heart of the Triangle de Feu, discover the Château de Cons-la-Grandville, a blend of architecture and culture, renowned for its famous musical gatherings. Erected on a rocky promontory in the heart of the village of Cons-la-Grandville, on the banks of the River Chiers, the castle rests on the foundations of a first fortified castle, built by Dudon de Cons, a fellow traveler of Godefroy de Bouillon, during the First Crusade. Since then, it has undergone constant restoration. Constructed of yellow limestone (pierre de Jaumont), it is an imposing sight. To the north and east, the massive, closed lower sections recall the square's role as a military defense, while the upper sections, wide open with richly decorated cross-beams, evoke the heyday of the Renaissance and the 18th century. The west wing and partially rebuilt stables bear witness to the destruction caused by wars, from the Thirty Years' War to recent world conflicts. The "Friends of Cons-la-Grandville" association organizes cultural and other events throughout the year. The gardens: several plans of the château and Priory date from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. They evoke the art of gardening in Lorraine. Also worth seeing is the Bois de Cons-la-Grandville, an exclave to the north-west of the commune, separated from it by Fresnois-la-Montagne and Villers-la-Chèvre.
