Saint-Pierre-Dels-Forcats is a village of around 300 souls attached to Mont-Louis, capital of the Haut Conflent region. The name Dels Forcats has nothing to do with any forcats. The root of the name comes from "fork". Spread over an area of almost 13 km², only 4% of its territory is built-up, the rest being divided between forests and meadows. The village is famous for its Cambre d'Aze ski resort, but also for its snowshoeing and Nordic skiing. As a four-season resort, there are numerous hiking and mountain-biking trails to discover the orrys, the stone shepherd's huts just above the village.
