If its first vestiges of occupation date back to the Bronze Age, Lansargues has known throughout history contrasting periods, some of which are splendid. There was thus a time when the ships of the Genoese merchants unloaded their cargoes at its port. Its importance was proven once again during the Revolution, when the village competed with Mauguio for the title of chief town of a canton encompassing the surrounding villages of Valergues, Mudaison, Lunel-Viel and Saint-Brès. In vain, because Mauguio wins. But Lansargues made up for it a little later with its cooperative cellar, one of the first to be created, which for a long time earned it the second place in France - and even worldwide - for its storage capacity, just behind that of Marsillargues. The culture of the vine therefore permeates the whole village.
