Located in the Rieutord Valley, this village is rich in Romanesque art: a church of the twelfth century. Still visible crosses on facades are witnesses of a very strong Catholic identity. Saint-Martial is now known for the culture on the terrace of the gentle onion of the Cevennes (AOC) and its textile industry. Every first Sunday in February, the inhabitants of the village celebrate the Saint Blaise, a votive party whose origin is probably linked to wool and wool trades. The oblivion and drums that accompanied this party once became the main attraction.
