This commune, located 5 km to the east of Rozay-en-Brie and scattered in many places, has a little less than 600 inhabitants scattered into several Lieux-dits (small hamlets). Voinsles is watered by the Yerres, the Visandre and other rivers. It is also dotted with ponds and beautiful isolated farms. The village was mentioned as early as 1218 on the road from Rozoy to Sésane or great road of Sésane which was reported to pass through Voinsles coming from Rozoy (Rozay-en-Brie) and going towards Vaudoy-en-Brie. This road would become much later the national 4. Until 1285, the village was located in a "marche séparante" which depended on the powerful count of Champagne and the king of France. It was not until the marriage of Philip IV with Joan of Navarre that Voinsles is attached to the crown of France. In 1842, the town of Voinsles was greatly expanded by including the former municipalities of Vileneuve-la-Hurée and Planoy. Villeneuve-la-Hurée was located on a spur and was certainly a fortified point. As for Planoy, only a few houses and a large farm have remained. Its church has disappeared, and it used to be dedicated to Saint Leu and Saint Gilles.The village is animated by a new market of local producers, which is held once a month. The Vincelais market is held every first Saturday of the month, at rue du 11 Novembre / courtyard of the "Jean de La Fontaine" school from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. You should also know that Voinsles benefits from a new bread distributor (in connection with the bakery of Beautheil-Saint) near the church, Cédric Pizzas' mobile pizzeria which parks nearby on Tuesday evenings and the rotisserie O'Chicken which parks in the same place on Thursday evenings. Voinsles offers a communal gîte called La Brie Perchée, which occupies a pleasant and well-equipped flat located above the town hall, with three bedrooms. It is the ideal place to immerse yourself in local life. The village festival is held on the last weekend of August.
