Montceaux-lès-Meaux, the only commune in the Pays de Meaux to have been awarded the "Village de Caractère" label, owes part of its renown to its château, of which the pavilion, chapel, outbuildings, forecourt buildings transformed into a town house and park are all listed as Monuments Historiques. The château, known as the "château of the three queens", belonged to Catherine de Médicis before reverting to Henri IV, who gave it to Gabrielle d'Estrées, until it became the property of Marie de Médicis... But Montceaux has many other treasures: old houses, Briard roofs and a turret housing one of the oldest bells in Ile-de-France!
