Poincy has an early history, with remains collected over time and dated from the Neolithic to the early Middle Ages, all fleeting traces of a distant past... As for the first written mention of the village, it dates back to the 7th century with the toponym Pipimissium. In the 1930s, Poincy was popular as a holiday resort and for fishing. Its charm is still felt today, with its monuments (18th-century mill, chapel, 19th-century town hall and school) and, above all, its hiking opportunities and river marina nestling in a green setting, a paradise for herons, swans and kingfishers.
