Occupied for centuries, La Chapelle-Gauthier is well worth a visit, home to several monuments, including the 13th-century church of Saint-Martin-et-Sainte-Catherine, listed as a Monument Historique. As you stroll along, you'll come across a number of ancient buildings, including a tower, a vestige of the medieval surrounding wall. Further on, a geodesic chimney and an ancient wind tower adjoining a farm known as Grandvilliers. Last but not least, the 12th-century Château de La Chapelle-Gauthier, rebuilt in the 17th century and now partly housing the town hall. Its park, bordered by the ru d'Ancoeur, is listed as a "remarkable garden".
