Villa Campellis nomine, "Les Petits-Champs", is the name given to this small village in the will of Saint Fare, sister of Saint Faron, bishop of Meaux in the 7th century. In the 12th century, Guillaume de Champeaux transformed the 7th-century convent into a magnificent collegiate church. Definitely worth a visit. Situated between Vaux-le-Vicomte and Mormant, not far from Blandy-les-Tours, Champeaux was once a fortified village with the listed Château de l'Aunoy, now privately owned, and the old water mills of Varvanne and Chaunay. It's a lovely place to stroll around.
