Like many villages around Lons-le-Saunier, Gevingey bears witness to a very old human occupation. The discovery of an Iron Age tumulus in the 19th century attests to the fact that the region was populated before the Gallo-Roman period. This very beautiful and dynamic village is today one of the most important wine-growing villages in the South of France, with no less than 5 winegrowers on its territory. We often meet amateurs who come to taste the famous beverage following the "wine route". The 17th century castle has been the scene of a "heckle" for the past 5 years, a show event bringing together 50 artists and 40 events. This year: August 30 and 31 and September 1.
