A beautiful town whose centre, located west of the national road, is animated by many shops. There's nothing to eat. In the Middle Ages, Cousance is the main economic centre of the Kids's baronnie. Kids's Lord built the doors in 1635 for the foundation of justice. These are subsequently used for markets and fairs. The opening of the road from Lyon to Strasbourg accelerates the development of the commercial and artisanal activity of the small city. The church dates from the th century, as shown by the grimaçantes figures and wolf heads at the bottom of the main door. But the bell arrow dates back to 1853. The church is dedicated to Saint Julien, a th century martyr whose relics she preserves. See also: the chapels Notre-Dame-des-Anges and Notre-Dame-du-Chêne. As for mountain biking fans, they will make Cousance the starting point for excursions on the arrow paths of the Gizia valley. This river, before taking the name of Gizia, was called the Cousance, a name that would come, like the River in Arbois, from a yellowish root designating a river from a rocky cliff.
