Ludes, known as "le Coquet", is located on the southern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. The Saint-Jean-Baptiste church is the oldest witness of the village. Built between the VIth and the XIth century on a hillock which dominates the village and which sheltered the cemetery, the architectural style of the building calls out by its irregular form which combines styles of various times on a primitive Romanic part. One can admire a Virgin with the Child and grapes of the 16th century. Neighboring a dozen other historic wine-producing communes, the commune has more than 300 hectares of vines, mostly pinot meunier and pinot noir, and 160 growers.
