Few traces remain of the bastide built in the 13thcentury by Henry III, King of England: a Romanesque gateway, remains of fortifications and the overall layout of the town. In Lalinde, the highlight is the canal dug between Mauzac and Tuilières between 1838 and 1843 to facilitate navigation on the Dordogne. It's a popular spot for fishing and walking. The Saint-Capraise canal-bridge, the locks and the Tuilières site are the subject of an interpretation trail. The Tuilières fish elevator is open to the public at the hydroelectric dam. It enables migratory species such as salmon to return to their birthplace.
