North of Loches, don't miss this charming, fragrant and colourful village. Chédigny, which has only 600 inhabitants, has created an original feature: the rose. It was the former mayor, Pierre Louault, who, in 1998, decided to embellish his town. An initiative that pleased, so much so that the town has more than a thousand rosebushes, of 270 varieties. It is even the only village in France to have been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label! From the narrow streets to the presbytery garden, via the wash house, roses are everywhere, in all colours, sizes and scents. Don't miss the rose festival on Mother's Day weekend!
