Located 12 km south of Tours, Montbazon is a privileged place to stay on the road to Spain. This important stronghold which commanded the Indre valley belonged to great feudal families. Foulques Nerra, Count of Anjou, built a wooden fortress there, which was rebuilt in stone around 1050, then topped by a statue of the Virgin. Today, after a long period of renovation, the fortress is open to the public. The Alley of the Angels passes under a 16th century house. In the summer you can enjoy a beautiful little guinguette with a dance floor and inflatable games for children, all surrounded by nature.
