The vineyard of Vouvray is cultivated on steep slopes on the right bank of the Loire. Very extensive and very old, it has galleries dug into the tufa rock that run for miles. This hillside, like that of Montlouis, has a grape variety common to both appellations: the Chenin from which the two famous appellations are made. Among the best vintages, some reach 100 years. A wine fair is held three times a year. The castle of Moncontour, flanked by its turrets dominating the hillside, was coveted by Balzac. It houses a wine museum. Accompanied by a winegrower guide, you can discover authentic landscapes on quad bikes.
