Welcome to Domaine Viticole Henri Poiron & Fils, located in the historic heart of the Nantes vineyards. The 36-hectare estate is located just 30 minutes from Nantes, in Maisdon-sur-Sèvre, between the Sèvre and Maine rivers. La Cave des Cinq Chemins is a wine shop located in Saint-Erblon. Since 1998, owner Philippe Delaunay has been offering a selection of wines, beers, spirits and local produce. Domaine de Port-Jean, on the banks of the Erdre river, has been in existence for almost 90 years. Just under fifty years ago, Daniel Bécavin took over the family estate to help his father. In 1999, Daniel's son Cyrille joined the adventure. The family estate now covers fourteen hectares. The Bécavins produce Muscadet-Coteaux-de-la-Loire, including the excellent and highly successful Cru Champtoceaux. A famous magazine says of it that "its salinity is often sought-after and makes for interesting pairings". Other bottles can be found in the côteaux-d'ancenis, where gamay (rosé, red), cabernet (red, rosé demi-sec) and malvoisie are produced. One of their prides is the Folie de l'Erdre, produced using traditional winemaking methods. Every year, on the last weekend in November, Cyrille organizes a Christmas market (Santa Claus is present on Sunday!) on his estate, bringing together some thirty local producers and craftsmen. A second gastronomic and wine event takes place on the second weekend in March. Cyrille selects only quality products and gives pride of place to artisans who are too often overlooked. Since 2015, Cyrille has been hosting the association La Ruche Qui Dit Oui to bring together local producers and consumers. A great way to make new discoveries.

Domaine de Lamotte - Château de La Pichonnière offers a selection of quality wines, including Anjou Rouge, Anjou Village Brissac and Boujets. An area in the heart of the historic vineyard giving rise to the Quarts appellation of Thatch. 10 of the 43 hectares of the vineyard, planted on the slopes of schist and sandstone, yield in reasoned yield this prestigious nectar derived from the white chenin. Each vintage has its own character, but these great wines show elegance, finesse and longevity. The Lafourcade family also knows how to shape the Bonnezeaux and Savennières, two other prestigious wines, as well as a beautiful Anjou Villages. Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon: typical varieties of Anjou that the house cultivates with respect for art, traditional and natural.

It has been in the same family for over 400 years! As you will see when you visit the basement, this château is listed as a major producer of dry white wines. The wines of Brézé were already praised in the 15th century by King René, and Du Bellay wrote, a century later: "His nectar seasons us, nectar gives it to us, my sweet Brézé vineyard". It extends over 26 hectares and still produces wines typical of the southern Saumur region. If the visit can take all day, the tasting is essential at the end of the tour and you will leave with some good bottles.

Dominique Martin is the third generation on this field that deserves a detour. Its range of Saumur charm the palate. In 2017, cellar master Benoît Chaigneau founded Distiloire, an artisanal spirits producer that makes Gin 1924, Pastis Meskad and Vermouth Douce Folie from local wines. Some of the plants are organically grown and sourced locally (Val de Loire), and the alchemy occurs to create authentic spirits with a flavor far removed from that of industrial beverages. While gin is essentially made from juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root and chamomile, pastis features no less than twenty plants, including the essential licorice and anise, as well as Tonka bean, cardamom, Sichuan pepper, lemon balm and thorn shoots, a nod to its Vendée origins. Benoît is the only professional to produce these beverages in the department, and one of only a handful in the West. With wheat, barley, water and hops, Hervé made his passion by creating his own beers (7 hours for the brewing, 17 days for maturation) which can be rousses or elliptical! or white, golden to spices, chestnut or fruit. In the triangle Brézé, St. Cyr and Montreuil-Birthplace, limestone trays house the plots of the area created in 1996 by Yves Lambert (now Deceased). Her son, Arnaud joined his father in 2005 and is now head of the vineyard of 41 ha. To live this land historically devoted to large white wines on various basements to develop white vintages, but also to haunt typical typiques in the corner and wines more on the margins. Estelle and Christian Chabirand acquired this 20 ha estate in 1997. On this virgin terroir, outside the appellation, they planted a 15 ha organic vineyard (Ecocert). The Mercier family has been dedicated to the wine tradition since 1890. They produce AOC Fiefs Vendee wines, vins de pays du Val de Loire and a cuvée using the traditional method. The 45 ha vineyard is planted on the clay and limestone terraces on the flinty outcrop of Vix. The development of the estate is intimately linked to the activity of the wine nursery whose know-how is recognised worldwide. Thanks to this, the estate benefits from a great diversity of varieties and selections, which gives their cuvées a beautiful complexity and signs the style of their wines.

In the heart of the salt marshes, Thierry Michon produces authentic and prestigious wines on 37 hectares of biodynamic cultivation (since 1995), referenced in the guides and present on a large number of French starred tables, and in establishments in the United States, Italy and Japan. Elegant and refined wines, naturally vinified, reflecting our biodiversity and our environment. Each cuvée is a plot-based cuvée. With a surface area of 30 ha, the Orion family's vineyard is made up of 65% red and 35% white grape varieties. The wines of Domaine de la Barbinière enjoy a good reputation. The whites are a blend of Chenin and Chardonnay, and go well with shellfish and fish. The rosés are a blend of pinot noir, gamay and cabernet; the reds are a blend of cabernet, pinot noir and gamay.
