Since 2018, Tiphaine and Stéphane's chocolate shop has been located in the town of Ouistreham. With your nose glued to the window, you give in to temptation: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, garnished chocolate... The range, made with Valrhona - the professional brand - and grands crus (pure Brazil, pure Madagascar), includes a variety of creations (mendiants, roses des sables, lollipops, tablettes, orangettes) and confectionery (fruit jellies, caramels, marshmallows). In addition to the chocolates, gourmets will also fall for the fine pastries.

It is the westernmost of the bakeries of the well-known city. The tradition of the Querqueville district is not lacking in the tradition that makes Toulorge an unfailing matter: large hours, a choice which is equally important, whether it be pastries, pastries, bread, but also snacks for small faims. Note the easy access to this shopping street.

Ah, that P'tit Chou, what would we do without it and its specialty: the famous petit chou topped with an old-fashioned pastry cream, so light and tasty that it never weighs down the stomach, just like its price. At lunchtime, you can eat for a pittance! As for the famous brasillé, go early to be sure to enjoy it. As for the bread, the baker has mastered his trade, and we're sure to fall for the classic Normande, the "tradi" seeds or the corn bread. 100% homemade!

It is a must! If you pass by the central district, you can't miss this beautiful store. Chocolates, fine pastries, macarons... Jean-François Foucher's reputation has long gone beyond the departmental borders. On the spot, to take away or for your holiday desserts, the references are very popular, like the Saint-Honoré in the house style. Finally, note that the company also has a bakery, located next door.

While the store on rue Saint-Jean is more centrally located, it doesn't have a bakery (yum... lemon or chocolate cake!), nor any delicious savory treats. But the sweets it does offer - chocolates and, more specifically, macaroons (veritable culinary masterpieces) - are just as fabulous as those on boulevard Yves-Guillou. In summer, we love the ultra-gourmet, refreshing pots glacés. As for the pastries, they're an ode to the sublime and to gourmandise, and we're particularly enamored of the lemon meringue tart. It's a no-brainer.

On the former industrial site of Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville, a branch of the ESAT du Pré de la Bataille has been set up. It is a workshop-boutique where the ESAT workers, the confectioners, make sweet specialities, including the famous Rouen apple sugar, once sold by apothecaries to relieve sore throats and ward off melancholy, but also chocolates and candied fruit. An interesting visit to this establishment, which won an award at the Trophées de l'Attractivité touristique in the category Valorisation du Patrimoine.

The first Japanese pastry shop in Rouen is always busy and continues to arouse the curiosity of passers-by. Adjacent to the Aître Saint-Maclou, this is one of Rouen's finest addresses. Here, finesse and delicacy preside over the confection of the finest pastries. Gilles Tournadre and Philippe Coudy created it, to the delight of our taste buds. The great chef draws inspiration from his environment, among other things, to invent unique pieces: the Norman side is found in the apple skillfully combined with its buckwheat shortbread, the urban side is transcended in the inimitable and unique pavé de l'aître. Auzou is an institution in Normandy! In the family, we are chocolate from father to son and daughter, since 1918, and we find shops in the arms of the family in Evreux, Rouen, Le Havre, and recently in Amiens, in Picardy. The two main specialties of the house are of course chocolate, which comes here in many delicacies with evocative names such as the Evreux pavement (praline) or Number One (chocolate in a tender heart), but also the macaroons, and their multitude of perfumes, as delicious as the others. The house also offers sugar, apples from Normandy in Calvados, ancient bags to old or Encore of Auzou, feuilleté feuilleté and nougatine. Sweet, salted, glazed, palace ends will find their happiness. Nice gift idea: the baskets of pieces of chocolate, thick like tablets to the old, and delicious!

DUPONT AVEC UN THÉ

This tea room is seductive just by its name. Our senses are awakened as soon as we walk through the door. The pastries make your head spin and the madeleines, the shop's flagship product - especially in Cabourg - keep their promise. An emblematic house on the Norman coast, this Dupont "avec un thé" is well established in several cities on the coast, Cabourg, Deauville, Trouville and Dives-sur-Mer, with an undeniable success. In 1990, Jean-Pierre Etienvre, meilleur ouvrier de France, refined the brand and made it a must for all the sweet tooth. The creations are bold, fine and delicious. Certainly, a hot chocolate or a pastry at four o'clock at Dupont's, in the small room on the ground floor, or in the largest one on the first floor, is not cheap. So, each time, we say to ourselves: "It's good for once", while off-loading a few euros off our wallet. Despite the crowds, the staff is charming and bend over backwards to please. How can you resist? Besides, you only have one life with a big "L", right?

Very well known in Le Havre, Doorman offers a variety of 80% daily special breads, based on rye or cereals, bacon cubes, nuts or grapes, without forgetting old and traditional baguettes, which account for the manufacturing. In the new configuration of the shop, customers see the manufacture of bread with a sliding door open onto the oven, also brand new, and artisan work. On the side of the Pâtisseries, the clientele is drawn by the goose of Gascony - stretched dough in which the fruits are cooked to steam, and the white and white chocolate duo, as well as the feuillantine to the praline. Doorman is also specialised in chocolates and features chocolate candy, special casts for great occasions, but also cakes, tarts and pastries.

LA PANETIÈRE

Bakery

French breakfast means: baguette, croissant and pain au chocolat. And that's where Yan and Pauline come in, since they took over the bakery 2 years ago, "the cherry on top of the breakfast cake": the chocolate praline bread! To try it is to adopt it. Viennese pastries, pastries, especially the Grand-Mère flan, the old-fashioned way with cream and wooden circle. The bread will also delight you: red label flour, natural yeast. Last but not least: the burger buns that will ensure a round of applause at home during the meal.

LA VIENNOISERIE

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream

What strikes when returning: the hot bread and other pastries that license the taste buds! It's a direct appetite! At some hours you can easily reach the street to find a grignette (the choice is impressive!), a foccacia, apricot-pistachio pie or a rhubarb-strawberry decay. Here we are from father to son and we must say that the Woodcutter is a must. You buy it by weight! An address to savour, for all the gourmets!
