Oncle Scott's bowling alley in Mondeville features 22 lanes, a bar, billiards and video games. There's something for everyone, not just strike fans. And if you really can't find what you're looking for on the games front, just walk through the swing doors and head for the country-western world.

Managed by Hugo, La Rafale, a charming bar located on a small square in the upper town, is a fine example of what a place like this should be: a lively place where there's always something going on, and where you're greeted with a smile. In addition to the delicious house-arranged rums, there's also a beer cellar (open Wednesday to Sunday), inviting you to discover dozens of red, white and blond beers! You can also attend matches or beautiful exhibitions.

It was Marie de Medici who laid the first stone of this architectural treasure in 1615. At the end of the 19th century, it was saved from destruction and classified as a historical monument. Bombed in 1942, its restoration took several decades, and the first work on an auditorium will begin in 2014. Today under the responsibility of the Rouen Opera, the venue offers a very beautiful and eclectic artistic program of songs, recitals, chamber and symphonic music concerts, world music...

It's the ideal place for a quiet break! With its wicker furniture, plants and half-timbered facades, the courtyard is charming. In summer, you can enjoy a cool iced tea or, at lunchtime, simple, tasty cuisine, including salads, omelettes and savory tarts. The cosy interior is an extension of this haven of peace where, in winter, a cup of homemade hot chocolate or a delicious tea will accompany your slice of cake made in the kitchen... And keep an eye out for the occasional feline lurking at your feet!

This is undoubtedly one of the most charming tea rooms in the city, and the window alone is worth a visit. On the ground floor, there is a cosy room with a dapper Anglo-Saxon decor, while upstairs you will find a room with a large window overlooking the cathedral. In this real doll's house, you can enjoy sublime homemade cakes, some of which are gluten-free, with a tea, a fresh fruit juice or a delicious hot chocolate. For lunch, puff pastries, quiches, and salads are available.

Inspired by coffee-shops across the Atlantic, the contemporary decor makes for a pleasant setting. The lunchtime menu, featuring American burgers, bistro-style dishes, salads and finger food, changes every week according to what's in season. Fish, meat, sandwiches, vegetable veloutés: everything you need for a delicious meal. The terrace under the trees, set back from the pedestrian street, is absolutely delicious whenever there's a ray of sunshine. The restaurant also offers brunches on Sundays.

The Opéra de Rouen is the city's cultural institution, with two performance halls: the Théâtre des Arts and the Chapelle Corneille. Every year, 100,000 spectators flock here to enjoy top-quality operas, concerts and dance performances. All audiences are catered for, with performances for children and the visually and hearing impaired. We love the €5 ticket for under 28s and those on minimum social benefits. So this year, go for it!

Ideally located by the lake and surrounded by parkland, the Bagnoles-de-l'Orne casino is the only one of its kind in the département. It houses a genuine leisure and entertainment centre. Its architecture, typical of casinos, makes it instantly recognisable. In addition to slot machines and traditional games, you'll find entertainment and shows. There's also a cinema, bar and restaurant. Please note: ID required and proper attire.

The Saint-Pair Casino is a multi-faceted place. Recently given a facelift, it's a pleasant place with a breathtaking view of the sea. Upstairs, slot machines, Black Jack and electronic English roulette with a cosy bar. On the first floor, a restaurant, a bar and above all a terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea, Granville, Cancale and Chausey on the horizon! And don't forget the magnificent sunsets from the terrace.

This is certainly one of the best-located cafés in Bagnoles. Indeed, the Renaissance is located in the heart of the city, at the intersection of several busy streets, a few dozen meters from the lake. In this vast and lively place, if you can sit inside, the very large covered terrace is ideal. You can enjoy the spectacle of the street, take a break probably well-deserved in your discovery of the thermal city, and the service, fast and very nice, allows you to feel perfectly well here!

The Joan of Arc Tower is the very last vestige of the Château de Rouen, which has become one of the symbols of the Norman capital. Joan of Arc was not imprisoned here, but she was granted a hearing in 1431, a few days before she was burned at the stake on the Place du Vieux-Marché. Today, the dungeon is the playground of escape game enthusiasts, whose scenario is "Libérez Rouen! Join the Resistance". You can also discover the dungeon on a guided or self-guided tour.

Discover a perfectly laid-out, air-conditioned 400^m2 space and enjoy a typically Irish atmosphere, either inside or on the terrace! On the menu: a wide selection of draught beers, from Guinness to IPA, blond and red. The Garrison also offers a selection of whiskies and rums from all over the world, from Jamaica to Taiwan, as well as selected wines to accompany your cheese or charcuterie boards. Finally, the bar regularly organises events: rock concerts, theme evenings... All in a warm and lively atmosphere.

Like a great desire to breathe and get some fresh air? We found the perfect place for that, our second home... Well, almost! A few steps from Pont-l'Évêque, at Camille and Valentin's house. We loved the space outside, the retro decoration inside, the play corner for the children. Here, we have lunch of good small dishes with British colours, we take a tea in the afternoon and we enjoy the dinner bar in the evening. We loved the fact of thinking that we will go to test, one day, the organic, local and fair brunch on Sunday. We hated: to leave!

As we said, it's a great little traditional restaurant, offering simple, effective dishes at very affordable prices, between Granville and Avranches. But that's not all: at Le Grenier, you'll also find a very practical convenience store with a wide range of opening hours, from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive! You'll find everything you need from groceries to newspapers, without having to go to the big shopping centers nearby. We approve!

The place is impossible to miss, located right in the city centre. Café Pompon is certainly one of the best tea rooms in the city and also offers a very popular lunchtime catering service, mainly with quiches and salads: it's good, it's fresh and full of flavour. And if you see a lot of people coming and going during your time here, it's only natural, because Café Pompon also offers delicious pastries, including the famous "cake pompon": a lemon cake whose recipe is jealously guarded.

Just opposite the August 19, 1942 Memorial, push open the door to Le Douze. You'll discover a friendly bar with a warm, modern decor and all-wood furnishings. The slightly offbeat venue hosts DJ sets, live concerts, painting exhibitions and other events. The bar is also popular for its wide selection of beers from all over the world and its seasonal menu. On summer evenings, the whole square is transformed into a stage and terrace, and that's why we love Le Douze.

Josephine, what a nice name for a tea room! Anne-Laure and Laura, a very nice duo of pastry cooks, give it life, in the heart of downtown. Good and homemade! On the spot or to take away, you can come and taste savoury snacks at lunchtime (soup, gratin, quiche, respecting the seasons), delicacies for the afternoon, made according to the desires of the pastry cooks (cookies, cheesecake...) and on order more festive recipes for your events (number cake, layer cake, etc.). We have validated the pistachio-citrus tart!

Looking for a change of scenery? Do you want to feel the warmth and sweetness of life? This Creole bar has set its course towards tropical lands. Here, between the Commerce and Barre basins, facing the open sea so to speak, you'll taste old rums, arranged rums, others from Haiti, mojitos, ti punches, piña coladas, and a bunch of cocktails that will make you travel... helped by a warm Caribbean setting. The plus? Exotic fruit juices, a terrace to enjoy the sun... and the incredible kindness of the owner!
