The restaurant is located in a manor house in the baroque park of Novo Celje. A complete culinary experience is provided by a young and talented team who use local ingredients to invent exquisite dishes with unique flavours that can match their beautiful wine list. Through a culinary experience called River food, guests blend into the local environment and become familiar with the specificities of local cuisine and the history of the valley, and then create their own menu in collaboration with the chefs.

A 5-star culinary experience is offered here by Michelin-awarded chef Blaž Derlink. The four-course menu changes daily and is decided upon in the early hours of the morning in contact with local suppliers. The lamb, typical of the Jezersko region, is often enhanced on the plate and sublimated by the wine advice of Marko, the sommelier of the place. Very elegant dishes, a romantic atmosphere and just the right amount of food to end with a white chocolate yoghurt ganache, elderflower granita and apple sorbet.

It is quite simply Ana Ros' restaurant, proclaimed best cook in the world by the reference magazine Restaurant in 2017. A renowned address located in the historic centre. In a rather bohemian chic decor, the à la carte dishes follow one another in a maze of the most pleasant smells and flavours. Slovenian cuisine is given pride of place although it does not take up the entire menu. You will love a veal fillet with grilled asparagus and black truffle purée. Special mention to the reception which is particularly pleasant with a staff with small onions and who tells us the story of our dishes and their ingredients with passion.

This distinguished gostilna offers a range of good quality dishes in a tasteful decor. The menu is particularly rich in both international and Slovenian dishes. One will appreciate the quality of the plates and the inventiveness of the gustatory associations. We'll avoid the rather unremarkable pizzas, however. The map is translated into the language of Molière to avoid any misinterpretation and the waiters have some knowledge of French. A nice welcome and good advice about food and wine pairings.

The tone is set upon entering this small inn restaurant; the red and white tablecloths with alpine motifs, the dark wooden beams and the porcelain objects promise us a total immersion in the Slovenian culinary tradition. This promise is kept, as the menu includes game dishes, stews, the famous homemade štruklji and trout fillet from Lake Bohinj. In the summer, it is pleasant to enjoy the small outdoor terrace or the brightness of the indoor pergola. The service is relaxed and friendly.

Star chef Uroš Štefelin and his team run the Linhart House in the small medieval town of Radovljica. Not only does he offer gourmet meals, gourmet breakfasts and bistro-style lunches, but he also runs his own cooking school where even children can come and discover their passion for this art! The nationally recognized chef transforms heritage dishes into dishes of the new Slovenian cuisine. A unique experience that justifies putting your hand in your wallet.

Located between the castle and the lake, this restaurant offers a beautiful view of the water and the surroundings of Bled. Its name means "restaurant on the castle beach". The menu is well stocked and the service impeccable. As for the dishes, you can try the truffle pasta with minced beef or the salmon filet with sweet potatoes and lime sauce. Don't hesitate to go there at any time of the day to sip one of the many cocktails on the menu, it's the ideal break to stroll around and observe the shades of light on the lake.

A sure bet and a favorite, this restaurant boasts a long tradition dating back to 1854. City dwellers love it, so much so that it's hard to get in without a reservation. Service is old-fashioned and elegant, with white tablecloths and silverware in the evening. The cuisine is contemporary, mainly international, with a few nods to Slovenian terroir. Here, even a simple soup will astonish you, so perfectly are the flavors and textures mastered.

Here again, you will have to leave the city centre for a while and go a few kilometres north, to the heights of the charming village of Otočec. The restaurant, with its rustic old-fashioned charm, offers local cuisine with high added value. You will be tempted by one of the four tasting menus, depending on your appetite - between four and seven dishes for a price between 30 and 45 €. Polyglot, the chef de salle will passionately introduce you to each of the dishes for a more erudite gastronomic appreciation. A change of scenery!

"The Slovenian House" by its name promises you only Slovenian products on the menu. You can have a typical breakfast in the morning. For drinks, you can find Slovenian gins like Monologue or Gini Bee, local beers and ciders, as well as homemade herbal teas with honey. In the afternoon, you can taste the Kranj sausage or choose the cheese or the local cold cuts that you want to eat. The list of desserts includes such must-haves as gibanica and štruklji. Highly recommended!

This restaurant stands out by the uniqueness of its offer. Here, the menu is unique and seasonal, you don't choose your dishes from the menu but rather the number of dishes that will satisfy your hunger, up to twelve dishes. You have to know how to abandon yourself to the chef's choices, who competes with creativity and unexpected associations with a hazelnut soup, mint ravioli with goat cheese and celery oil or the intriguing beetroot cake combining beet, mascarpone ice cream, lemon and port. A traditional and cheeky address!

At the entrance to Linhartov Square, this hostel offers a wide variety of Slovenian dishes on its menu. To enjoy food, you have to love meat! The assortment of grilled meats - quite gargantuan - consists of a pork chop, country sausages, raznic (turkey cutlet), pleskavica (a kind of ground steak), accompanied by onions, zucchini, mustard and pepper sauce. To be enjoyed on the pleasant terrace with a view of the Triglav. A good address for the most carnivorous among you!

From the twentieth floor of the Hotel InterContinental, opened in 2017, the view over Ljubljana is breathtaking (we're even talking about the city's highest restaurant). In Restaurant B, the dishes are no less surprising. Prepared by local chef Komnen Bakić, the new menu aims to be international with Slovenia's plural influences. On the bar side, you can enjoy one of our signature cocktails (with honey) at sunset, or enjoy a DJ set in a relaxed atmosphere (April to November).

In the heart of the village, this small restaurant designed as an alpine hut with traditional furniture and rustic decoration offers traditional and typical cuisine of the Gorenjska region. You can find here ancestral recipes of dishes in sauce that can be eaten with a spoon or planks of cold cuts and local cheeses. Finally, you can try the typical dishes with a glass of beer from the local brewery. At any time of the day you can taste the famous apple strudel of the house that has made it famous.

The aim of this small restaurant is to revisit traditional Slovenian cuisine with a modern touch that makes all the difference. In a wooded and contemporary decor, a visual and gustatory harmony reigns quite intense. The chef Izidor Kržišnik masters his subject very well: his pasta stuffed with Tolmin cheese is a little wonder. A piece of advice, try to taste everything you want, or come back a second time! The menu is 100% local, but there is a wide variety of choices on the menu.

First, we will have to ignore the situation of this restaurant. Indeed, it is nestled in the middle of a dated and frankly poorly designed shopping centre. Beyond this slightly regrettable aspect, the restaurant offers a wealth of healty food dishes in a warm room. On the plate, the vegetable is king under unusual and seductive variations. The prices are particularly attractive: count between 6 and 8 € for a hearty dish of seasonal vegetables, the presentation is so unscheduled.

An address whose authenticity has made it a success, as the long queue outside the entrance will testify. Reservations are not possible, so be patient! The small, modest dining room echoes the concept: raw, local produce, presented without fuss, a tribute to the Alpine cuisine of yesteryear. The menu is XS, a testament to its freshness, with signature dishes such as Franco's English Roastbeef or frika, the traditional shepherd's dish with potatoes and Tolmin cheese. A must in the region, accessible to all budgets.

This little address has all the makings of a big one! Its uncluttered, unassuming façade conceals a wealth of expertise, directly inspired by its neighboring country: Italy! Hand-formed pasta is king, in tagliatelle, orecchiette, gnocchi, fuzi, ravioli... They are enhanced by homemade pestos and sauces, fresh truffles and local shellfish. Adding to the quality of the dishes, there's a lovely outdoor terrace, wine by the glass, a tasty homemade cheesecake for dessert and, above all, a very sweet final bill!

Vipava is full of good places to eat, in the absence of satisfactory hotel accommodation. In a charming ^18th-century house, set in a herb-scented garden, you'll discover a gourmet universe where the cuisine is very well prepared. Despite the relatively small portions, prices are attractive, allowing you to sample several quality dishes without breaking the bank. On-site, a dozen cosy rooms with soft decor. Located in the basement, they feature skylights for stargazing.
