Built in 1874 by the architect Pierre-Victor Jamaer, the King's House is an extraordinary late neo-Gothic building located on the Grand Place, on the site of the bread market (Broodhuis) which existed here in the 13th century. The city museum is a real treasure trove from the Middle Ages to the present day: models of the city, sculptures and fountains, paintings and altarpieces, old maps, tapestries and earthenware made in Brussels. Its centrepiece: the statue of the most famous Brussels ketjes: the Manneken-Pis. Many temporary exhibitions.

In the north of the royal domain, the Chinese Pavilion and the Japanese Tower remind the world of the great world expositions. The pavilion is a léopoldienne chinoiserie that owes as much to European architecture as to the artisans. Planned as a Chinese restaurant by Leopold II, it became a museum of Porcelain. The Japanese Tower is a little simplest that the king offered at the 1900 World Exposition in Paris.

With its 92 hectares, it is one of the largest plant gardens in the world. Visitors can stroll and marvel at the garden's renowned botanical and horticultural collections. The site also offers events and temporary exhibitions, such as cooking workshops, botanical illustration workshops and ceramics exhibitions.
