Tourist office offering a guided tour of the museum and a walk to discover the distillery of Genièvre with a tasting
Hasselt has been producing jenever since the 17th century. This jenever museum, housed in the former Stellingwerff-Theunissen distillery (19th century), is a monument of industrial archaeology. Here you can learn all about the history of Belgian jenever. The distillery still produces about a thousand bottles every year! Tasting is of course included. The tourist office also offers a Route du Genièvre including a guided tour of the museum and a stroll through the city with enlightened explanations on places related to this history.
