EL PERAL
Read moreA good seafood restaurant where you can enjoy ceviche, grilled octopus, shrimp gnocchi and other local specialties to the rhythm of the music of visiting artists. The view is spectacular, to say the least, and makes for a particularly pleasant setting from the top of this pretty terrace. The daily menu offers a vast and delightful choice. The service is impeccable and smiling, the dishes are well prepared and the prices remain reasonable. A little bucolic break under the Pacific breeze, ideal for a summer lunch

You have to try the congrio al arriero, delicious. Choice of sea urchins, picorotos (giant barnacles, in fact), almejas (clams) and even seafood empanadas! You can also share picadas. Good value for money and large portions guaranteed even if the service is sometimes a little overwhelmed and the setting a little too impersonal.

Read moreYou can taste a Franco-Belgian cuisine with local accents: raw fish Tahitian style, tuna steak with vanilla, homemade tagliatelle with smoked salmon, beef fillet, ceviche (delicious with its ginger), vegetarian dishes and Belgian chocolates (the mousse for dessert is a must). Very well prepared and presented dishes in this two-storey restaurant on the ocean, run by Delphine, a Belgian. From the starters to the dessert and the wine list, everything is very good. A little expensive, but the flavours are a change from the classic tuna diet on the island.
CAFE DEL POETA
Read moreA classic decoration for one of the best cafés in the city. Very typical, it is identifiable by its beautiful colored facade. Here, it is not a high place of the Chilean gastronomy, however the menu remains not very expensive the midday and the dishes proposed are of quality. The menus include drinks and there are vegetarian options. All this is always accompanied by friendly and smiling service. The terrace on the square is very popular in summer, a little set back from the street. In short, simplicity is the order of the day and the warmth is real.
MERCADO PALAFITOS
Read moreThe classic municipal market of Chilean cities: lively, colourful, authentic and filled with fresh, local produce! But in Castro the setting is somewhat unusual as the market is located on the edge of the Castro fjord and next to houses on stilts. If you're running away from restaurants and want to eat iodized food at fair prices, then treat yourself. Of course, you will also find seafood and fish specialities. From one shop to another, prices change little, but portions are generally quite generous.
MAR DE AMORES
Read moreAn iodized address on the lively Cerro Alegre! Here, Jorge offers a classic cuisine with a real flavour. Classic? Yes, but creative and above all based on fresh products! The menu offers tuna tartar with Dijon mustard, oysters au gratin in the oven or even seafood lasagne (shrimps, oysters and squid with béchamel sauce... yum!). Vegetarians and vegans will also find something to their liking. The plates are nicely prepared and the restaurant has a nice terrace on the first floor. The bill? Not that expensive.
TRES PECES
Read moreThe Tres Peces, as the name suggests, specializes in fish and seafood. In its charming, bright service room on the Cerro Concepción, decorated with elements evoking Valparaiso's fishing and seafaring heritage, you'll be delighted by the weekly menu. Empanadas and other filled doughnuts, fresh salads with iodine accents, grilled fish and/or seafood, raw fish tatakis with bold flavors and fruity notes - everything is good at "Les Trois Poissons"!
MATA RANGI
Read moreThis friendly little restaurant is located on the waterfront. Its picturesque location on the waterfront offers a direct view of the harbour, the ocean, sea lions, sea lions and pelicans competing for the fishermen's catch. An authentic and picturesque address where excellent cuisine based on seafood is served. The dishes, without pretension, are fresh and tasty. We particularly like the seafood empanadas and the fish of the day grilled a la plancha. An address full of charm that never goes out of fashion.
TIO JACINTO
Read moreServing Antofagasta's finest fish and seafood. Tasty, delicate dishes make up a mouth-watering menu: the ceviche is undoubtedly one of the best in the region, the fish always fresh and the crab(chupe de jaiba) surprising. An assortment of seafood is also available: a delight! The restaurant may not look like much, but Tio Jacinto already has the cachet of a long-established address. A refreshingly friendly address with attentive service.
DONA FILOMENA
Read moreAn ideal location and a rather pleasant setting for this restaurant located a stone's throw from the beach. It has been a real institution since 1848, when it was created as a canteen when Filomena was cooking for the soldiers of the marine army. The pizzas are generous but not exceptional. Try fish instead, fresh and tasty, like ceviche. Empañadas are not bad either. The service is sometimes random but it remains a classic of the city. In short, don't expect great quality cuisine but the dishes are correct.
TATAKU VAVE
Read moreA nice find, although the restaurant is not necessarily easy to find. We come there to taste delicious preparations while enjoying the sunset, once again simply magical... Offers a lot of fishes like ceviche - we talk about the best of the island, tuna or matahuira with sweet potato, served in big shells. Most of the dishes are accompanied by richly flavoured sauces (including an excellent soy and honey sauce). The prices are relatively low for this address which we recommend 100%.
SQUELLA
Read moreRenowned for its oyster beds and good fish, which guarantee freshness at all times. Located on the second floor of a charming renovated house, it serves oysters, lobster, camarones al pil pil, sea urchins and dishes with Spanish and Basque influences. The place is rather quiet and intimate, we appreciate the service and the dishes that compete with freshness and quality: all the cuisine reminds the flavors of the ocean, a real feast! Don't forget to drink a pisco sour.
EL CHEJO
Read moreThis family restaurant is exceptional, for the welcome of its owners who come to talk to you, and for the quality of the cuisine they offer. Centolla (giant crab) empanadas with seafood or cheese are delicious as a starter. You are then served the fish of the day, fresh and tasty. And El Chejo himself finally sits down with you to taste a local liqueur... Every Sunday lunchtime, we serve the famous curanto al hoyo for a modest price. A typical and picturesque address just the way we like it!

CEBICHERIA LA MAR
Read moreAn excellent restaurant of the great Peruvian chef Gaston Acurio. Here, the sea takes the man and we offer you fish and seafood above all. In a modern and well-balanced atmosphere, the cuisine is top-notch: after a pisco sour or a Peruvian-style cocktail (obligatory!), try the anticuchos de pulpo a la parrilla as a starter (a delicacy), the ceviche then the tacu tacu creole (seafood on a kind of rice and bean omelette) or the giant crab. Excellent!
EL CANGREJO
Read moreThe seafood at this restaurant is particularly popular and is the cheapest curanto in the city. Taste the centolla, giant crab or spider crab, a condensed blend of flavours made in Chiloé! There is also carapacho: a delicious stew cooked directly in the shell of the seafood. In addition to seafood specialties, you can choose more typical dishes and empanadas. The prices are more than reasonable, the portions rather generous and the attention particularly friendly.
EL RINCON DE PANCHO
Read moreOn the first floor of the main Cardonal market, near the terminal, in a colourful atmosphere so typical of the old port, this is a good address to soak up the local atmosphere. It offers mostly good and hearty fish and seafood ( machas a la parmesana are a must as an appetizer, then the chupe de camarones). The marina Paila (a traditional Chilean seafood soup) is particularly delicious. There are always local musicians who come to play the guitar and sing. A very picturesque address.
