The classic municipal market of Chilean cities: lively, colourful, authentic and filled with fresh, local produce! But in Castro the setting is somewhat unusual as the market is located on the edge of the Castro fjord and next to houses on stilts. If you're running away from restaurants and want to eat iodized food at fair prices, then treat yourself. Of course, you will also find seafood and fish specialities. From one shop to another, prices change little, but portions are generally quite generous.

Le marché aux victuailles est très pittoresque. Allez-y vers 13 heures et vous verrez les poissonniers jeter à la mer leurs déchets qui attirent quelques lions de mer et un ballet de mouettes qui se disputent les restes. Le restaurant à l'intérieur de ce marché n'est pas terrible, il vaut mieux aller à celui qui est derrière le marché, en bord de mer. La foire artisanale, à côté, propose des souvenirs pour tous les goûts et toutes les bourses.
