This historic building hides quite a story behind its evocative name: that of the Peluquería Francesa, a hairdressing salon run by the French from 1868 until the 1990s! All sorts of antiques and trinkets are on display inside, ensuring you a most immersive setting in the heart of the last century. A good address located in a superb setting, at the edge of the water and a small sandy beach where it is good to take the sun. An excellent little place serving hearty dishes and run by Ramón, a native of the island. A warm and friendly character, he welcomes all his customers with a smile and cooks with love. The small local dishes are concocted from products from the island. Try the ceviche, the lobster or the fish soup. We appreciate the shaded terrace, ideal on hot days. Ramón speaks French well and allows travellers, for a few pesos, to camp in his garden. In short, a generous and sunny address as we like them.

Clean and pleasant for a lunch break, this restaurant offers first of all a soothing view of the fjord and the green hills. Every day the menu is different, although the culinary universe doesn't change: here we mainly prepare fish and seafood: Merluza austral, congrio dorado and salmón at the head. The risotto de camarones (shrimp) and the pastel de jaiba (crab casserole with cheese gratin) are particularly delicious. The products are local and the vegetables come from the neighbouring orchard. This is definitely one of our favorites! Chef Tatiana offers very good dishes of Chilean nouvelle cuisine. The flavours are creative and Tatiana's culinary inspiration can be felt at first glance: the plates are beautiful and the dishes wonderfully presented. The menu is short, a sign of freshness and quality, and works with local products, mainly meat and fish. Good atmosphere (the setting is really well thought out, with sofas and a fireplace) and a good meeting point for a top-of-the-range dinner.

It is certainly the best address in the neighborhood combining simplicity, fresh produce and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is held by two Chilean chefs in love with fresh produce and creative cuisine, working with small producers in the region. The dishes are rich and surprising, sometimes inspired by French cuisine. It's a good idea for brunch, both original and rich! Sit on the outdoor terrace among the plants, the rustic and colorful decoration of the places. It's 100% recommended.
