Day 1: Archaeological site of ancient Sabratha

Steps: Tripoli, Sabratha

Arrival in Tripoli and departure for the visit of the archaeological site of Sabratha, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back to Tripoli.

Day 2: Road to the "Pearl of the Desert"

Steps: Qasr El-Haj, Nalout, Ghadames La Perle Du Desert

Departure to Ghadames, via the old fortified granaries and the Berber villages of Qasr el-Haj and Nalout. Arrival in Ghadames in the evening.

Day 3: Ghadamès the Saharan

Steps: Sebha, Tripoli

Discovery of the old town of Ghadamès and the palm grove, the museum, the Fort of Ras el-Ghoul and the small lakes of Aïn-Debban in the desert. Sunset on the Ramlet el-Ramsin dunes.

Day 4: Road to Sebha

Steps: Sebha

Beautiful north-south trip from Libya to Sebha, administrative capital of Du (850 km).

Day 5: Erg Oubari Oasis Lakes

Visit to 4 x 4 of the salt lakes hidden in the upper dunes of Erbari (Mafu Lakes, Gabraon, Oum el-Ma and Mandara), with a night in bivouac.

Day 6: Discoveries around the former Garamantes people

Steps: Germa

Visit of the archaeological site of Germa, former capital of the Garamantes, the mythical people of the Libyan South, the tombs of El-Hatya and the museum.

Day 7: Traces of ancient times

Steps: Tarhouna

Visit of the rock engravings sites of the Matkhendouch wadi, continuation and bivouac in the erg Mourzouk.

Day 8: Desert hike

Crossing of the Imrewan pass and bivouac in the Erg Mourzouk.

Day 9: Rock sites in the desert

Cordons of the dunes of the Erg Ouan Kassa and discover numerous rock sites of the Wadi Wadi. Bivouac.

Day 10: Landscapes of sand and rocks

Rock sites of the Wadi Wadi and the Wadi Wadi. Grande Arche de Fozzigiaren. Bivouac.

Day 11: Arrival in Tuareg countries

Steps: Ghat

End of Traversée massif crossing, high mountain plateau, and arrival at Ghat.

Day 12: Visit of Ghat

Steps: Tripoli, Sebha, Ghat

In the morning, we visit the old town of Ghat, the former capital of the Tuareg Ajjer. Transfer to the airport for Tripoli if the airport is in service, otherwise transfer by plane from Sebha (550 km to the northeast).

Day 13: Along the Gulf of Sirte

Steps: Tripoli, Misratha, Syrte, Benghazi

This long straight road makes it possible to have an overview of the desert coastline. We will mark a stop in Misratha to visit the small museum and the little souk and then to Syrte to spend the first night. Those who do not want to take a flight from Tripoli to Benghazi.

Day 14: Greek city of Ptolemais and walk in Benghazi

Steps: Benghazi, Ptolémaïs - Tolmeta

Departure from Benghazi to visit the Greek city of Ptolemais, between valley and sea, then overnight in Benghazi. Before or after the excursion to Ptolemais, we will go for a walk in the city of Benghazi.

Day 15: Archaeological site of Apollonia and port of Soussa

Steps: Benghazi, Apollonia - Soussa, Ras El-Hilal, El-Athrun

Road from Benghazi to Apollonia (200 km), the port of Cyrene. Then visit the Byzantine churches of Ras el-Hilal (small Byzantine church) and El-Athrun, and possibly visit the waterfall of Ras Hilal. Overnight in Soussa or in the tourist village of Ras Hilal.

Day 16: Escapades and Tobruk on the Al-Bayda road

Steps: Tripoli, Al-Bayda, Derna, Tobrouk

A stop in Derna for a walk in the old shopping town and, why not, a stop at the small local museum and the waterfall. Then we will leave the cemeteries of the Second World War of Tobruk, before returning to the mountains of Jebel Akhdar to spend the night in Al-Bayda.

Day 17: Hellenist Metropole of Cyrene

Steps: Cyrene - Shahat

Visit of the Cyrene site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, complemented by an overview of Greco-Roman necropolises, Zeus Temple and Museum.

Day 18: Al-Bayda and its surroundings

Steps: Tripoli, Benghazi

Visit of the beautiful Byzantine mosaics museum of Qasr Libya, after a small walk in the wadi el-kuf, the "cave valley". Then we take Benghazi's plane to Tripoli.

Day 19: Stroll in Tripoli

Steps: Tripoli, Qasr Libya - Olbia-Theodoria

Visit of the city of Tripoli: museum, Italian colonial district, old town with its mosques, souks and the triumphal arch of Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Day 20: Leptis Magna, former Roman capital

Steps: Leptis Magna, Tripoli

Full day dedicated to discovering the archaeological site and the museum of Leptis Magna, as well as to Villa Silin with its sumptuous Roman mosaics. Return to Tripoli late in the afternoon.

Day 21: Discovery of archaeological sites

Steps: Tarhouna, Beni Walid

Visit some archaeological sites in the Tarhouna countryside and spend the night in Beni-Walid, which has a small museum. This itinerary is optional, but it provides a glimpse of the tripolitan hinterland.

Day 22: Mausoleums of Ghirza

Steps: Ghirza

Visit of the tombs of the Roman era and the fortified farms of Ghirza

Day 23: Crafts and local life

Steps: Yefren, Gharyan

We will stop at the shining pottery stalls at the bottom of Gharyan Mountain where we will visit a cave house. We spend the night in Yefren.

Day 24: Berber town of Yefren and its surroundings

Steps: Kabaw, Yefren

Visit the surroundings of Yefren, even the fortified attic of Kabaw and the old town of Turmisa, which overlooks the valley.

Day 25: Last hours in Libya

Steps: Tripoli, Gharyan

After returning to Tripoli via Gharyan, you only have to say goodbye to Libya.
