Gourmet herself, Karine opened this store dedicated to sweets only: chocolate, candied fruits, old fashioned XXL meringues, calissons, nougats, orangettes, fruit jellies and dragees from Doucet. Everything is made in the region, artisanal, even the syrups made in Mane in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Depending on the season, you can be tempted by pretty chocolate creations: handbags, pumps, eggs and chickens at Easter. Karine is at your service, in winter she will offer you a coffee and an orangette if outside the weather is crazy.

CONFISERIE SERGE CLAVEL

Confectionery
5/5
3 reviews

Heir to a know-how for 4 generations, Serge Clavel is the ambassador of berlingot and candied fruit in Carpentras. The fruits are true works of art that give a sumptuous opulence to the Table des Treize Desserts of Provencal Christmas. Serge has also developed the pastry section. His shop windows are real temptations, everything is made on the spot of course. We love the fabulous homemade fruit jellies made with seasonal products. In summer, the home-made ice creams are a delight for young and old, 40 flavors!

HAUT LES PAINS

Bakery

2 reviews

100% organic, 100% gourmet, good bread does not run in bakeries. Hauts les Pains stands out not only for the gustative qualities, the crispy or soft textures of its breads, but also for the healthy ingredients that Pascal Coutaz, an architect, used in his first life, wanted to make a reality of his desire for a better world in every sense of the word. His sourdough is natural, his organic flours, small spelt, Khorasan, rye, wheat, rice, buckwheat with typical flavours come from a local farmer-miller.

ALINE GÉHANT

Chocolatier
5/5
2 reviews

If there were a chocolate street in Avignon, this is it, and we'd name it after Aline Géhant, who opened her boutique here in 2009. An artisan chocolatier of excellence, she is unanimously acclaimed by her discerning clientele. Purists can indulge their sweet tooth with the classic ranges: dark chocolate palets, hazelnut or crunchy pralines, plain dark or milk ganaches, and the Noir de Provence combining cocoa from Grenada and Ghana. The curious can choose from a range of creations, including star anise, honey, thyme and lavender chocolates.

LES BOULANGERS DU BEAUCET

Bakery

It is one of the institutions of the city. And we come a long way to choose its traditional wand, large campaign bread, organic or semi-complete bread… Breakfast is not bad either because the house has several times received the first prize of the best growing Vaucluse. You can enjoy it at the tea lounge. At lunchtime, we have the choice: sandwiches, quiches, pizzas, compound salads and some hot dishes.

PÂTISSERIE JOUVAUD

Patisserie
4.6/5
5 reviews

A true Carpentrassian institution, the Jouvaud house opened its doors in 1948! A longevity that is no stranger to this family passion - 3 generations in succession - for quality, inventiveness... and gourmet food! Over the years, the range has grown and diversified, from macaroons to rocailles (sublime meringues with roasted hazelnuts caramelized inside). The decorative objects selected by Nicole and her daughter Maïe find a nice resonance with the sweetness of father and son.

"Cakes, sweets, chocolates and gifts", four little words that take on their full value here. The reputation of Maison Jouvaud, also in Carpentras and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, has not wavered for 3 generations! You can sit there at tea time after shopping. In addition to sweets, tarts, millefeuilles and their famous XXL meringues, there is a savory snack section with well-stocked sandwiches. In summer, salads are added. Dishes, tablecloths, cushions, lights are part of the decor and are for sale.

PÂTISSERIE VERNET

Patisserie
4.7/5

The 250 m² of bright, airy space features a pastry shop, a tea room, a juice and ice-cream bar and a snack bar. The counter where you sit opens onto the laboratory, where a young brigade in chef's hat and impeccable uniform is hard at work. The pastries, cakes, entremets and viennoiseries are very good, but more expensive than elsewhere. At lunchtime, a snack menu offers a few suggestions and daily specials for a break. When the weather's fine, there's a lovely terrace to sit out on.

GÉRARD GAZEAU - ARTISAN PÂTISSIER CHOCOLATIER GLACIER

Chocolatier
4.5/5
2 reviews

A pastry maker, chocolate maker, glacier, Gérard Cazeau off the gourmands. The address is confidential, nestled around Grambois in the Luberon. Gérard welcomes you in his lab, he works raw materials in the purest tradition: full fruit, full cream, no dyes. His creations are small jewels of subtle aromas, be it his macaroons - a dozen fragrances including the violet, the poppy, the caramel salt, the melon, or the rose and a typical lavender honey - its chocolate truffles, its almond fondants and its ice and glaces. From the fine days, it is a pleasure to enjoy the icy cuts you can enjoy, sitting on the terrace or in the garden in front of its workshop, some summer afternoons on reservation (dates to check out on the site). Cracks,…,…,…, noisette, noisette, noisette… Gérard proposes to give you some tips for the success of the famous macaroons. It organizes workshops over half a day; the equipment is provided as well as the chapeau and deck. We leave the session with the manufactured products (about macaroons) and a booklet of greedy recipes.

LA COUR AUX SAVEURS

Sylvie and Florian have made this courtyard the sanctuary for chocolate, nougat and old-fashioned gingerbread crunchers. They are at the heart of the city. Beware not to miss this little side street, because the address is a pure invitation to greediness. Florian, passionate about his job, makes little marvels on the spot without additives or preservatives, coated manually and without storing. Florian has selected for his ganache and praline recipes the Grand Chocolat Valrhona of which he is a partner, pure cocoa butter.

PÂTISSERIE JEAN-LUC BATTU

Patisserie
4/5
2 reviews

Since 1988, this master pastry chef and disciple of Escoffier has been a favorite of Pernois food lovers and connoisseurs alike. People come from far and wide for his travel cake: Soleil Pernois, a delectable marriage of raspberry pulp and candied melon, which you can easily slip into your luggage because it's not afraid of heat or transport. The same goes for "La Perle de la Nesque", a meringue base with an orange praline center. This is not the case for "Esprit Blanchard", a chocolate bonbon with a cinnamon aroma created in honor of the Pernois music master, but never mind, we'll eat it right away! As for the rest, the shop windows are overflowing with pastries, ice creams, petits fours and other sweets that rival, among other temptations, the chocolates, made exclusively from selected beans. And the welcome is extremely kind.

You will find their candied fruits, jams, calissons and fruit syrups, as well as honey, nougat and home-made chestnut cream. In 2019, they received the jury's trophy for "positive entrepreneurs". MAISON VIOLETTE BOULANGERIE NATURELLE

Bakery
2.6/5

Maison Violette lives up to its name. Sébastien Beaupère wanted it for his sign, a little outdated, with the fresh and flowery spirit of his daughter's first name, and also that of the bakeries of yesteryear where daily bread had something sacred about it. He buys his beautiful stall of products made in his lab with organic or locally produced flours. Taste above all! Varied breads, few pastries, only bakery pastries that embalm the leaven.

GOURMAND'L'ISLE

Glacier
3/5
2 reviews

This glacier is set up in front of the church. It has about fifty flavors with a special mention for the Caramel salted butterscotch or the Rock. He also knows how to bait children with his Nutella ice cream... And he also knows how to win the loyalty of the locals with a beautiful menu of hot Italian chocolates, pancakes and waffles for cold days and his beautiful Christmas logs at Christmas time. And don't be too disappointed if there's no more room on the terrace - it's small - and opt for the crunchy cones!
