THE CHURCH OF SAINT-HILAIRE-LA-COMBE
Read moreThe building is located in the place of La Coomb, in a curve opposite and at the height of Curemonte. The church is one of the oldest in Corrèze in the th century. The missing parts and ouvertures show that it has crossed the ages by limits. In a primitive Romanesque style, it marks the spirits by its sobriety and compact shape, due in particular to the disappearance of a second nave in the north. Large stone slabs on the main nave lead to the polygonal form and the very simple decoration. The collapsed vault was replaced by a chapente. Children like the least young can have fun looking for the sculpted shapes on the modillons that support cornices. It is no longer a place of worship but hosts summer exhibitions (paintings, sculptures or photos) organized by the Friends of Curemonte.

THE PRIORY CHURCH OF ARNAC
Read moreJust two kilometres from the castle, this parish church, which is majestic and solitary in the countryside, is worth a look at the castle. After founding castrum de Pompadour, Guy de Lastours rebuilt at the beginning of the th century the church of Arnac. He decided to transfer the relics of Saint Pardoux and set up a priory that he entrusted to the Saint Martial Abbey in Limoges. The church is then dedicated to Saint Peter, and a small monastery (now disappeared) is added to it. The Romanesque art lovers overlooks the architecture presenting a unique nave with three spans as well as the remarkable set of historiés capitals, production of the sculptors of Bas-Limousin in the th century. On its western facade in broken arches, the first Gothic limousin, three niches houses statues, the Virgin virgin surrounded by Saint Martial, left and Saint Pardoux, on the right.
