CHATEAU DE LAUSSAC

Winery

The small estate of the 1950s was transformed into a beautiful 28 hectare vineyard, one of the crown of the vineyards Robin (Rol Valentin in saint-emilion., Vieux Taillefer in pomerol). The site of Laussac castle, where the vineyard has opened for two centuries, is 8 km from Saint-Emilion. It is the "flying" winemaker Michel Rolland a large dining area and veranda facing its development since 2004, with its concern habiuel of precision and perfectionism. The result is a very nice wine, linked to the fruit, with toastées and vanilla touches. The hotel suggests of a beautiful guard, in the course of which have tannins blend to leave room for more pleasures.

CHÂTEAU COUFRAN

Winery

The Domaine du Château Coufran belonged to the Marquis de Verthamon and then to the Célérier family. In 1924, it was acquired by Mr Louis Miailhe, who brings to the restoration of the vineyard the greatest care. Today, frequently described as pomerol du, the originality of the Coufran castle is part of the geography and the singular choice of its variety. The règes of its vines, almost exclusively of Merlot, climb the hindquarters in the mouth of the Gironde. The early of this grape is extremely dry, dry, and very well exposed. Thanks to a traditional ageing in oak barrels, Coufran Castle is synonymous with a fleshy, expanded, flexible wine with a touch of ripe fruit when still young. Thanks to its quality and excellent value for money, Château Coufran is one of the top peloton of upper bourgeois bourgeois. Château Coufran is also a member of the Bordeaux Wine Academy and the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. A careful selection makes it possible to develop a second wine, La Rose-Ancre castle, which comes from a domain merged with that of Coufran.

CHATEAU D'ARSAC

Winery
Closed

One of the oldest estates in the Médoc, Château d'Arsac can look back on an eventful history of over 1,000 years. Owned by the Sires d'Arsac in the 12th century, then by Thomas de Montaigne, the philosopher's brother, in the 16th century, it was planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the 18th century. Today, Château d'Arsac has 108 hectares of vines out of the 250 hectares of the property. We distinguish Château d'Arsac (AOC Margaux, exceptional cru bourgeois), Château Le Monteil d'Arsac (AOC Haut-Médoc, cru bourgeois), Cuvée Céline (AOC Bordeaux White) and Cuvée Scooter (AOC Bordeaux Rosé). The site is also remarkable for the quality of its architectural rehabilitation and for the choice of sculptures by the owner Philippe Raoux. Works by Bernard Pagès, Jean-Michel Folon, Rotraut Klein-Moquay, Jean-Pierre Raynaud, Susumu Shingu or Bernar Venet punctuate the "Garden of Sculptures". The visit also includes a historical, artistic and oenological part. A wine tasting is served at the end of the visit.

CHÂTEAU ROUMIEU

Winery

This family property, which has been in the family since the 18th century, is home to a magnificent wine storehouse built by the Bordeaux architect Fargeaudoux in 1896. The wines produced by Catherine Craveia-Goyaud are the perfect expression of the grape varieties - Semillon 89%, Sauvignon 10% and Muscadelle 1% - from the Sauternes terroir of Haut-Barsac. Thus, the wines have a wide and superb aromatic palette with notes of apricot and white flowers. The mouth is smooth and keeps a good freshness. A treat.

MARGAUX CASTLE

Winery

This castle is the most important neoclassical building in Bordeaux. Designed by the architect Louis Combes in 1810, it rises on four levels generously lit by large bay windows. The estate began to take shape between 1572 and 1582, thanks to its owner Pierre de Lestonnac, who managed to completely restructure the property to move from cereal to vine growing. Over the centuries, several owners gradually made the wine of Château Margaux, a wine of excellence. At the beginning of the 1970s, the recession and the disastrous and unsellable vintages of 1972, 1973 and 1974 put the Ginestet family, then owners, in a desperate situation. It was in 1977 that André Mentzelopoulos bought the property. The Ionic columns that adorn the peristyle of the château remind him of his native Greece and make him realise the extent of the work that needs to be done to restore Margaux to its place as Premier. In 1980, his daughter Corinne succeeded him and took up the challenge. Today she is the sole owner and manager of Château Margaux. The vineyard of this Premier Grand Cru Classé covers an area totalling 262 hectares.

CHÂTEAU DURFORT-VIVENS

Winery

In 1855, Durfort-Vivens received its classification of Second Cru Classé of Médoc. The cru is taken over in 1937 by the Société du Château Margaux, of which the Lurton family is then one of the major shareholders. The wines were then vinified at Château Margaux, until 1961, where Lucien Lurton, already owner of the Brane-Cantenac castle becomes purchaser. This passionate and great connoisseur of wine terroirs rehabilitates the vineyard. In 1992, his son Gonzague inherited the property which is then provided with a new cellar and a new vat cellar. Neat harvest and careful wine-making enhance the typical features of the grape, which gives a deep and elegant wine. The vine population is divided between Cabernet-Sauvignon (66%), Merlot (24%) and Cabernet-Franc (6%). The ageing is done in oak barrels with fine grain of the forests of central France, for 18 months on average.

DOMAINE HAUGAROT

Sale of wines and spirits

The Haugarot domain is young and its energetic vine-grower is almost so! Taken back by Jean-Pierre Prohoram in 2004, it is an independent operation that began to transform its 2 hectares of vines in 2004, with a production of Petit Manseng and a "André Jean". Today with four new vintages from the 6 hectares of which 30% are reserved for the production of dry jurancon and the rest to that of the moelleux jurancon, one can say that Jean-Pierre has successfully met his challenge! The area is now flourishing and is based on products derived from organic farming. here we work from the lunar calendar to respect the biodynamisme while using contemporary processes. All wines are vinified in AOC "Jurancon", sweet freshness to meet. The Cuvée Cuvée is a good example, with its exotic notes of sweet fruit but we love the "Sonqué your tù" which means in Béarnais "nothing only for you", with flavours of caramel and dry apricot. To discover them, do not hesitate to visit the chai and why not the estate, from the work of the vine to tasting, everything is exciting!

CHATEAU DE LIDONNE

Winery

Wine from the first slopes of the river, the production of the Château de Lidonne is intimately linked to the Dordogne, which flows down the vineyard. After a traditional vinification made of stainless steel vat and a minimum ageing of 18 months, this Côtes-de-Bourg is bottled on site. You discover in the shade of hundred-year-old cedars one of the oldest vineyards in the Gironde, property of the Archbishop of Bordeaux in the 15th century and then operated by a religious brotherhood that hosted the pilgrims on the way to Saint-Jacques. Today, the stones, which have retained the mark of the past, are a setting of choice to taste this wine, sold from €4.70 to €5.50 depending on the vintage (available: 1997 to 2003).

The opinion of oenologists on the Château de Lidonne Côtes-de-Bourg 2001: beautiful ruby garnet color. The palate is fine and balanced. Pretty red fruits return. A wine of guard.

CHATEAU LYNCH-BAGES

Winery

It is the Irish Lynch family, owner of the castle in the 17th and 18th, which gave its name to the property. Jean-Baptiste Lynch was mayor of Bordeaux and Michel Lynch mayor of the town of Pauillac. The castle was bought in the early 20th century by the Cazes family, and Jean-Michel Caze always ensures its destiny and never stops reinventing it. The vineyard of 90 hectares, on the gravel plateau of Bages, dominated by the Cabernet Sauvignon gives rise to a powerful Pauillac, long on the palate and rich in tannins. In addition to the quality of the visit and wine from Lynch-Bages, note the presence of a contemporary art collection, started in 1989 and which is enriched every year by a work of masters such as Alechinski, Titus Carmel, Arroyo or Jan Voss. CHÂTEAU PRÉ LA LANDE

Sale of wines and spirits

Wines certified vegan in the Sainte-Foy Côtes de Bordeaux appellation! Château Pré la Lande has been producing wine since 1860 on the slopes of a hillside at an altitude of 120 metres; one of the highest points in Gironde. The natural slopes ensure good drainage, and the proximity of the Dordogne, a certain mildness to the climate. The history of this vineyard is fascinating, and so is its terroir. At Château Pré la Lande, only two of the five grape varieties are currently present: Merlot and Cabernet Franc. And soon the Cabernets Sauvignon and Malbecs. In addition, there is still a plot of old Semillons that produces an atypical dry white. Depending on the characteristics of the wines, part of the harvest is aged in oak barrels and the other part in eggs and amphorae made of Italian terracotta. To discover.

CHÂTEAU CASTÉRA

Winery

Located in the commune of Saint-Germain-d'Esteuil, north of Saint-Estèphe, the estate covers 185 hectares, 63 of which are planted with vines. Its name is synonymous with quality and is known worldwide. In many countries, it carries the flag of the crus bourgeois. Château Castéra is one of the oldest castles in the Médoc. We can mention as illustrious owners Thomas de Montaigne or Messire de la Boétie. Since 1986, the Press family has modernised the cellars, renovated the vineyards, today and since 2008, Thomas Press, the son of Carl Press, is the sole owner of the estate and has made the quality of the wines its priority. As proof, Château Castéra 2010 and the Marquis de Castéra 2010 were awarded a bronze medal at the Concours des Vins de Bordeaux. Because they are visitors like any other, the speech is adapted to children. Imaged and playful panels allow them to participate actively. The discovery tour offers the history of the château, the work of the vine, the cellars and the wine tasting. The heritage tour gives access to a private tour of the tower where the castle's archives, the oldest of which date back to the 15th century, are on display. Finally, the Premium visit also invites you to taste the vintage in the barrel during maturation and offers a Castéra engraved glass.

CHÂTEAU LABEGORCE

Winery

At the French Revolution, the estate was divided into three parts: "Gorsse de Gorsse" where the original castle whose vineyards produced part of the vintages that have made the fame of the estate was located. "Labégorce" is in the heart of the estate with its elegant residence of neoclassic style where the vineyard has built a solid reputation of elegant-wine producer, with exquisite taste and distinguished bouquet. "Labégorce Zédé" offers margaux in the purest tradition and was elevated to the highest national rank of the Crus Bourgeois in 2003. These three areas were gathered in 2002 by Hubert Perrodo. 5 stars for the vintage Labégorce 2006 to the decanter. The castle organises tours with tasting by appointment or without.

Opinion of oenologists: Château Labégorce margaux, 2006: beautiful deep-garnet colour. Complex nose, rather smoky, woody, with notes of prunes with alcohol. Character wine! Château Labegorce, margaux, 2007, dark-garnet colour. Powerful and complex nose, fresh cassis touches, cherry, raspberry vanilla, cedar, Havana. Château Marquis d'Alesme, margaux, classified vintage wine, 2007, deep-garnet colour. Intense nose, mainly roasted bread, smoky, vanilla, black cherry, raspberry. Château Labégorce margaux, 2009: red-garnet colour. Very elegant nose where fresh fruit notes, flowery and spicy flavours blend. Same elegance in mouth where the mellowed oakiness leaves room for powerful, sweet and ripe tannins. Long final on the fruit.Château Marquis d'Alesme, Becker, margaux, 2009: dark-garnet colour, crystal clear and bright. Primeur nose, still closed. Touches of red ripe fruits, milky, on a very mellowed oakiness. The mouth turns out austere, fresh, on crunchy red fruits; the tannic structure is well built, very young, elegant. To wait.

CHÂTEAU L’ANCIENNE CITADELLE

Winery

The name of the estate refers to a dungeon, a remnant of a fortress that was one of the most powerful in Aquitaine during the Hundred Years War. The vineyard, facing south, stretches along the hillside. It gives a well-balanced red Bergerac, with a nose dominated by red fruits, with touches of hazelnut and vanilla. It is best drunk young, still on its fruit. The white wines are born from old grape varieties (among others, Semillon, Muscadelle) and can withstand aging.

CHATEAU LAFON ROCHET

Winery

In 1960 Guy Tesseron, a great name in Cognac, took over the 17th century property but everything was in ruins, or almost. He renovated the cellars and the vat house and decided to demolish the château. In its place, he built a residence based on the plans of a chartreuse. The rebirth of the wine was also to be done and in 1966 he presented a wine worthy of a 4th Grand Cru Classé. The next step was the purchase of Château Pontet-Canet, followed a few years later by Château Malescasse. The wines of Château Lafon Rochet come from 40 hectares of vines in a single block.
