The Maison de la Vallée du Champsaur, located in Ancelle, France, is a natural site offering information and documentation on the region. It also presents temporary exhibitions and sells products and books from the Ecrins National Park. A permanent exhibition entitled "Entrez dans la haie" is open to the general public. The Maison de la Vallée is a joint reception area for the Ecrins National Park and the Champsaur-Valgaudemar Tourist Office. Admission is free.

The Roche-la-Croix site is a set of stone masonry (th century) and reinforced concrete (th century) which bears witness to a race without a hitch. Integrated into the Maginot system of defence of the Alps, it represented a real lock on access to Larche's Col.

This museum is part of the Musée de la Vallée network, which has a total of five establishments throughout the Ubaye valley, a very instructive network for those who want to know about life in the past in this valley.

In Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye, come and discover the panorama of agricultural machines and tools collected in Ubaye. This museum exhibits the tools, gestures and work of Ubaye rural society, before it was invaded by mechanisation and the generalisation of trade. It also presents two specific activities in this territory: the work of hemp and wool at that time. It is dedicated to the blacksmith Albert Manuel, who provided it with models that are both beautiful and educational, teaching the traditional gestures of the valley: transporting wood, water mills... An old-fashioned kitchen has also been reconstructed, with a collection of old clothes and naturalized animals.

A very good point to note: this structure is sensitive to the reception of disabled people. Guided tours, small workshops, film screenings... help you discover the museum. Temporary exhibitions are also regularly held there.

Finally, we point out that during its opening period and only in high season, it houses a Tourist Information Point, which can be very practical on site, because otherwise the nearest Tourist Information Office is in Jausier. A double reason to visit this nice little museum!

A beautiful stretch of water bordered by lawns and trees, with beaches and supervised swimming, tennis courts, basketball and beach volleyball courts, a climbing wall, children's games and shaded picnic areas, as well as a giant zip line that runs directly into the water and a water ski lift! The entrance fee includes the use of the playgrounds and access to the beach. There is a snack bar on site, the Chalet du Lac, which is open all day and which, in the evening, becomes a friendly and welcoming restaurant where you can dine à la carte.

This local tourist information office of Verdon Tourisme offers a lot of practical and tourist information, also available on its website. It does not organise activities itself but works in close collaboration with several specialised service providers (paragliding, sailing on the lake, fishing in the Verdon...). In case of closure, you can contact the inter-communal office of Castellane, of which it is a branch office.

Nature lovers can stroll along the largest freshwater lakes in Western Europe. The quays are dotted with presentations explaining the formation and the life of Geneva. Beyond that, only around 50 % of the shore is easily accessible, the law there requests it though not respected… In Vongy, under a large viaduc railway, you will find a pass and scale that allow trouts to reproduce upstream.

This showroom for kitchen furniture, bathroom and storage, opened in 1999. Mobalpa is emblematic of the economic success of the valley in the wood industry, a major activity. Originally, a cabinetmaking workshop created by the artisan Eugene Fournier in 1907. The workshop is developing and, with the help of the sons Marcel and Paul, is moving towards the kitchen. In 1949, the Mobalpa brand (contraction of Alpine furniture) is launched and furniture becomes elements to combine between them. The company keeps innovating (built-in furniture, custom fixtures, ultra-resistant connections), and opens up to export the new lines (bathroom furniture, accessories, and storage). Mobalpa opens this gigantic space of 2 000 m ², contemporary and design, for a permanent exhibition of over 100 models presented to the general public. A visit to a beautiful area with documentation and library, to test in real size all the styles and facilities offered by this specialist (certified Quality and Environment) that always produce in the ultra-modern factory of Thônes.
