Mont-Louis is one of the sites listed since 2008 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in connection with the Vauban fortifications. One of the curiosities of this military heritage is the Puits des Forçats, located inside the citadel, which provided the city with water. The city has a rich heritage on other levels: religious buildings, small built heritage such as the city well, classified as a historic monument, its commemorative monuments, its Cabanasse viaduct... and its solar oven dating from after World War II.
