Saint-Jeanvrin is located 6 kilometers north of Chateaumeillant towards Lignières. The village is also located on the road to Santiago de Compostela. It has a museum of ancient tools. You can also admire the massive St. George Church, Romanesque Romanesque building of the xiith century, historic monument since 1911. The ruins of a castle, undoubtedly vestiges of a fifteenth century building, are also located on the commune. Saint-Jeanvrin was formerly named Saint-Janvier (Sanctus Januarius). The first lord of Saint-Jeanvrin is Guillaume Espinaz. The church is named in various papal bubbles. During the French Revolution, the commune provisionally named the name of Bord.
