The urbanized beach of Ses Salines nestles in the Bay of Fornells, 7 kilometers from Es Mercadal. At the back of the beach stands a string of white-fronted residences. A popular summer spot, it's also a popular venue for water sports, particularly windsurfing at the Club Nàutic de Fornells. It's also here, to the south of the urbanization, just before Cala Blanca coming from Fornells, that the Concepció saltworks are located. After a 35-year hiatus, the saltworks resumed operations in 2018 and salt is once again being produced here. It's one of the town's main attractions.
