The village of Teurnia, close to Spittal an der Drau and the Millstätter lake, was brought out of obscurity by archaeological excavations which revealed the presence of an ancient Roman city on this territory. From May to October, you can visit the Römermuseum Teurnia, the Roman Museum which shows the remains of the ancient city of Teurnia, which was the provincial capital in Roman times. You will discover ruins, mosaics, sculptures but also everyday and domestic objects from the5th and 6th centuries. A dive into the past that is particularly appealing to families and, of course, to all history lovers.
